I got my first smart phone when it was required by my employer. I want a TV with one remote. With only five buttons. Up + down for volume, left & right for channels, and the power button. I don't know how to use half the features in my car and it's a 2016.
I need things to be quick and intuitive, or I just do not care.
So, how to use AI in my everyday life appeals to me. I recently was using it for some estate planning data and brainstorming. I got frustrated with the output though.
Long story short, I then heard about a company that helps people (usually businesses) get better use out of technology they already have...that is either underutilized and/or that employees just haven't been trained on. So, I signed up. It was kind of like going to the Genius Bar at an Apple store but virtual and for PC or Apple tech.

I had a great training recently with Simplified365 on how to get more out of Copilot (AI), and it was eye-opening.
I got to pick what I wanted to learn about, and the training was curated to me and real-world use cases. I also ended up learning a bunch of stuff like how to 👇🏻
•Use prompts in Excel to build graphs and pivot tables without clicking through menus.
•Summarize large datasets in plain English.
•Highlight trends, patterns, or anomalies automatically.
•Explain formulas or tables in plain English Iike I'm in grade school.
•Fix or debug formula errors.
•Write better prompts to get more accurate, useful answers.
• And I made a comment about how long it takes me to save new contacts in my phone. The guy said AI could help with that too. 👀 🤯
One of the best takeaways for me was learning how to have Copilot go through all my sent emails within a timeframe, pull out the contacts, drop them into Excel, including a 'notes' section and then export them into VCF files I can load onto my phone. What?! That alone will save me hours I think.
And what's really cool, is that I can apply the same approach outside of the Microsoft ecosystem — including Gemini in Google and Gmail, which I have to use for work.
It was all so practical. Not theory, not hype...real ways to use AI tools I already have to make everyday tasks faster and easier.
